NEW in June 2017:  Monaghan County Council is developing a Walking & Cycling Strategy for the County.  A Draft Strategy has been produced, and comments are being sought from the public.  You can view the draft Strategy here

In December 2012, with funding from the Dept of Transport, we produced strategies for the towns of Monaghan and Castleblayney. The purpose of the strategies was to identify the supports which need to be put in place in order to achieve a ‘modal shift’ – ie get people to change the mode of transport they use for some of their journeys.
