Cavan Monaghan Transport Coordination Unit

“Local Link Cavan Monaghan”

Cavan Monaghan Transport Coordination Unit Ltd (CMTCU) was set up at the end of 2014, as part of the national restructuring of the Rural Transport Programme by the National Transport Authority (NTA). It replaces Cavan’s CART and Monaghan’s Balti Bus schemes.

CMTCU currently operate approximately 70 services in the Cavan Monaghan region, with most services operating flexible routes where the bus will pick a passenger up at their door. 50% of services are fully wheelchair accessible; the remainder have low step or easy access.

The services are operated by private operators on behalf of CMTCU using Mini Buses or Midi Coaches (12 to 28 seat capacity).

Information on all  services are available on locallinkcm.ie or by contacting their office on  047 51840

Town Link Project

CMTCU have introduced a bus service in the Monaghan town area as part of their remit to provide passenger transport in the Cavan Monaghan region on behalf of the National Transport Authority. They are using the spare capacity on services already on route or utilising vehicles when they have finished their service in Monaghan to provide a Town Link service.

Signage will go up shortly at the pick-up points around the town.
