Monaghan by Bus

As there is no rail link to Monaghan, bus is the only means of public transport.  Both Bus Eireann and Ulsterbus operate regular services through the county.

Going North? The public bus operator in Northern Ireland is called Ulsterbus. If you’re looking for information on bus times, you need to visit the website of Translink, which looks after both bus and rail travel across NI.  Visit https://www.translink.co.uk/. The site has a very easy journey planner. Just pop in where you want to start from and where you want to end up, and the date and time you want to go.  And yes, you can put in Monaghan as a start or end destination!

  • Monaghan – bus station on North Road

  • Castleblayney – bus shelter on York St

  • Carrickmacross – bus stop on Dundalk exit from by-pass

There are NO cycle parking facilities at this location

 

Note: Not all services stop in Castleblayney and/ or Carrickmacross. Check Bus Eireann timetables to be certain that your chosen bus will stop at  these locations.
