The concept comes from the Dept of Transport’s ‘Smarter Travel’ strategy, which aims to create a shift in travel patterns away from the private motor car and onto more sustainable transportation, such as public transport, bicycles and walking. We can all make a difference to the environment by thinking about how we choose to travel, and choosing to use more sustainable modes of transportation where possible.
